A seminar focuses on a specific topic or discipline through presentations and discussion. It helps students in improving communication skills, gaining expert knowledge, networking with others and renewing motivation and confidence.
The conference was very useful as it had a welcoming atmosphere, well organized, good scale and solid content presentation. It was affordable for students. It created opportunities to network with outsiders. The conference was helpful in generating lot of ideas about how to expand skills and develop new project ideas. It was a great forum and was very valuable. It had a good mix of different topics presented. We came out of this conference with answers and solutions instead of just questions and concerns.
National Level Technical Symposium was conducted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering motivated the students to be creative and innovative. More than 200 participants from various engineering colleges actively participated and presented their paper in the area of Design, Thermal, Manufacturing, Automobile and Composite Materials.
Industrial tours represent important activities in any engineering undergraduate programme that contribute to the achievement of various essential learning outcomes and programme objectives. This paper reports on an attempt to make the industrial tour an integral part of the course. This is achieved through identifying learning outcomes and a suitable industrial site to achieve them. In this case a thermal power plant was identified as a site to be visited by chemical, electrical & electronic and mechanical engineering first year students.
Students are made to visit various factories and get insight of the internal working environment of the company. It helps the students to understand the process of any organization and also strengthen their overall learning interaction with business executives.
Engineers often end up with abundant bookish knowledge but scant practical expertise. In order to equate this imbalance, the Skill Development conducts various training programmes. To have forward thinking in terms of re-engineering the mechanism of current appliances by meticulous research.
Project exhibition was organized by the Department of Engineering. Final year students are participation of this exhibition. Major objective of organizing this exhibition was to provide the platform and unleash the potential of the students by showcasing their innovative projects developed in the Final Year either as Industry Defined Problem or User Defined Problem and provide an opportunity for the students to demonstrate their learning experience. The outcome of the PROJECT EXHIBITION was that students were able to show their project at higher level and the process boosted their confidence.
The various events/activities have been conducted in association with Institution of Engineers to enhance various technical and professional skills among the students. The Society also encourages and assists professionals to maintain integrity and competence of the profession and fosters a sense of partnership amongst members. Besides the activities held at the Chapters and Student Branches, the Society also conducts periodic conferences, seminars.
An IEEE Student Branch provides opportunities to meet and learn from fellow IEEE Student and Graduate Student Members and engage with professional IEEE members locally. An active IEEE Student Branch can be one of the most positive elements of your academic career, offering programs, activities, and professional networking opportunities that build critical skills outside of the classroom. IEEE currently has Student Branches at thousands of universities and colleges in hundreds of countries throughout the world.
